Natural stone flooring is an exceptionally popular floor covering. It offers timeless appeal that means that it’s popularity remains high and shows no signs of slowing. Natural stone floors have a feeling of luxury and class. However, the cost of installation is not restrictive, so it can be found in many homes, whether traditional or modern.
Another aspect of this flooring type that seems to help its popularity is the fact that it is incredibly hard-wearing. Hard-wearing floors are much-needed in commercial properties, so we also find that a large amount of our stone floor restoration work comes through premises such as hotels, pubs, bars and homes for the elderly. For hygiene and appearance, it is really important for these floors to remain looking at their best.
Our Stone Cleaning Work
The below images show a great example of this. When we turned up to survey this work, the hotel toilet floor was dirty and didn’t appropriately reflect the professionalism of the establishment. It was clear that the stone floor needed deep cleaning and protecting to restore it to a condition that would offer a positive association.
Now it is really important to be confident with your product selection when dealing with natural stone. It can easily be damaged and products that have bleach in them can leave dull and damaged areas, which are even harder to maintain.
It is also advised that the process is completed with trade-specific machinery. This high-powered machinery works with the products to agitate the solutions and remove the dirt from the tile. In restoration, the top surface coatings need to be removed so that the tiles below can be appropriately cleaned. The stone cleaning process can be an arduous one, but our industrial machinery ensures that it is done as quickly and efficiently as possible. The floors are then ready for a stone sealer to be applied to ensure the results can be maintained.
