Patio Sandstone Cleaning

Patio sandstone cleaning can be a tough business but not for MCS Stonecare. The first stage is to do a test area using the same machinery, cleaning solutions and procedures as if going to do the full works that would be carried out. This ensures that the client is happy with the finish and there are no unforeseen problems.

The first procedure would be to apply the cleaning solution. This is worked in with a rotary machine using carbon brushes, breaking down soiling, mould, surface Lichen & Algae. Pressurised machinery using steam is then used to clean the areas leaving a fantastic finish and an uncontaminated surface.

A Lichen & Algae remover is then applied to the surface which will keep breaking down any remaining Lichen deposits which can have roots through the tiles. We also prevent anymore green Algae clusters forming through the year.

Mark has done a remarkable job of bringing both our carpets and patio back to life and making them look brand new again. He is super friendly, efficient and took great care around the house when treating the carpet as we had recently redecorated. I would highly recommend him and will be using him again in the future!”

Our Guide to Cleaning Stone Patios

Your patio is not only a functional extension of your living space but also a place to relax, entertain, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Keeping it clean and well-maintained is essential to ensure it remains an appealing and welcoming place.

Preparing for Patio Cleaning

Before diving into the cleaning process, it’s crucial to prepare adequately. This preparation involves gathering the necessary tools and materials, assessing the condition of your patio, and taking preliminary steps to ensure a thorough and efficient cleaning process.

Assessing the Patio Condition

Examine your patio carefully to identify any problem areas that require special attention. Look for stains, mould, mildew, moss, weeds, and any signs of damage or wear. This assessment will help you determine the cleaning methods and products needed for the task.

Clearing the Patio

Remove all furniture, plants, and decorative items from the patio. This step will give you unobstructed access to the surface and prevent any obstacles from hindering the cleaning process. Additionally, this is an excellent opportunity to clean and inspect your outdoor furniture and accessories.

Cleaning the Patio Surface

With your patio cleared and prepared, it’s time to focus on cleaning the surface. The methods and products you use will depend on the type of material your patio is made from, such as concrete, stone, brick, or wood.

Maintaining your Patio

Regular maintenance is key to keeping your patio looking its best. Sweep the surface regularly to remove dirt and debris, and clean up spills promptly to prevent stains. Periodically check for and treat moss, weeds, and mildew.
