Property developers gained authority to transform the existing Officers mess buildings into a fully serviced business centre at the IWM airbase in Duxford, being a Grade 1 listed building the original Terrazzo and concrete flooring had to be retained throughout the 2 buildings which were mainly in the washroom areas, stairs and landings.
MCS Stonecare was called out on site to tender for the flooring works. On inspecting the condition of the flooring and after doing test areas to find the finish that was required by the client, MCS was given the contract.
The whole development tender went out to building contractors with the insistence that MCS Stonecare was to do the renovations stated; this was won by building giant SDC. We worked closely with SDC to make sure the clients required finish was met. Here are before and after pictures of works carried out.
