Cleaning Travertine Woodford Green

When we are cleaning travertine tiles, it is important to survey the area first. The survey process allows us to assess the damage and forecast the cleaning process needed to bring them back to life. Travertine is a really beautiful natural stone. It offers great versatility and can be used in many settings throughout your home.

We were invited to deep clean and restore this bathroom that was fitted with full travertine tiles. As with any tiles, time and the varying temperatures had created a lot of ingrained dirt. The grout lines looked black, and you can see as the moisture level rises, so does the level of grime.

It is really tricky to avoid this in a bathroom. Even with running fans, bathrooms are likely to experience high levels of moisture when you are bathing or showering. There are certain things that you can do to keep on top of this.

Cleaning Travertine Tiles – Some Tricks of the Trade

Cleaning Travertine Tiles Woodford Green

If you have natural stone tiles in your bathroom, general and routine upkeep will help keep them looking better for longer. Here are some tips that may help you reduce deterioration:

Make sure that you have a running fan in the room. This should be turned higher when you are using the bathroom. It should be set to run on low all of the time and even when the room is not being used.

Keep your walls clean. Moisture and condensation will rise and drip down your walls. It is therefore important to wipe down your walls regularly. This will stop the build-up on the tiles.

Make sure that you seek the support of a local stone cleaning specialist. They will ensure that your tiles are deep cleaned and appropriately sealed. We are also able to give information and advice to make sure that you can keep your cleaning routine simple and straightforward.

Our clients commented:

“We just moved into a house with a travertine floor. AT first, the floor looked like it had “character” but we soon realised, this was dirt! As travertine is a soft stone, we asked for help and after a careful clean and restoration, it is like we have a brand new floor. The job was careful and meticulous.”

“Our tiles were extremely dirty and the grout was discoloured and cracked. Mark carried out the work efficiently using specialist equipment. The results are incredible – the floor looks absolutely brand new. Mark also gave advice on how to keep it clean. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MCS Stonecare, it was worth every penny.”
